He may have just removed the short cut go to Start/My Computer/C:/Program Files/limewire look for a file named

LimeWire
LimeWire
Lime Wire, LLC

Double click on it and see if LimeWire opens. If it does right click on it, scroll down to send to, then select desktop (create shortcut) this will create a new shortcut on your desktop.
