You should also tell us what fixes you've tried & their effects. The Stickies around the forum are full of fixes. |
1) Windows XP
2) McAfee firewall (showing Limewire has full access) and Windows
XP firewall (turned off). Also did the add port 31823 steps for
Windows firewall even though the firewall is turned off.
3) 512
4) 9.24 GB
5) Cable
6) Motorola Surfboard SB5120 cable modem
7) Connected from home
8) LimeWire beta version 4.11.0, Java version 1.5.0_05
9) ISP - Cox Communications
10) Am NOT sharing connection with other computers or other
P2P programs.
11) This is my first try at using LimeWire.
First of all, didn't submit a "license" number when the box initially
came up, but noted in the box to download anyway. I did a test
download from a magnet link. Only then, was I successful in down-
loading a file, with good speed, 227.2MB within about 15 minutes.
Unfortunately, LimeWire still shows the brick wall in front of the blue
earth, and I am still unable to download regular files even though my
McAfee firewall shows LimeWire having full access, and my Windows
firewall turned off. I don't know what the green oval 72 (next to it)
is for. The status goes as far as "connecting....," "Waiting for stable
connections." I am not connected to a router, but connected directly
to the cable modem. I went to one mentioned website, and got, "The
test worked," but when I did the report a bug view report, I got a
"false" when it came to "Received incoming this session."
