It's possible your firewall is blocking your connection to LimeWire I actually had to manually configure my Norton's Personal Firewall to allow it to let LimeWire connect. If you're using a firewall, you might try configuring it manually to allow LimeWire to connect. If you have a different firewall other than Norton's, I am not sure how to confirgure it.
To configure Norton's to allow LimeWire:
1. Double-Click the firewall systemtray icon. If it's not there, load Norton's Personal Firewall through your Start menu, then in the Programs list.
2. In the System Status window, click Personal Firewall
3. On the right-hand side of the window is the option to Configure, click it. A new window will emerge, with tabs at the top of it.
4. Click the Program Control tab.
5. In the Manual Program Control section, look for C:\Program Files\LimeWire\LimeWire.exe.
6. If it's in the list, skip ahead to No. 10.
7. If it's not in the list, click the Add button.
8. Double-click the LimeWire folder.
9. Double-click LimeWire.exe.
10. Select LimeWire in the list.
11. Click the Modify button at the bottom of the window.
12. Select Permit from the "What do you want to do?" drop-down list.
13. Click OK.
14. Click OK on the Norton Personal Firewall window.
15. Close any other Norton's Personal Firewal windows.
16. Close and reload LimeWire.
You should be able to connect to LimeWire now. |
