Smile hostslist.txt

This link has a detailed discussion on what the “hostslist.txt” is, where to find yours, and what to do with another copy.

All versions of Xolox use the host list (hostslist.txt) on start up. The “hostslist.txt” file is basically a list of the different (coded) “IP addresses” that Xolox initially connects to on startup. Xolox updates its hostslist.txt automatically, and will also automatically make an entirely new hostslist.txt if the old one is deleted before startup.

The main two reasons you might need to replace your “hostslist.txt file” are, if Xolox won’t connect on start up (unable to search, you get a warning, or possible cause of freezing,), or if you feel Xolox is not connecting well enough (too few search results).
