dmg files are designed to be opened by Disk Copy which is found in your Utilities folder. Toast will open & burn such files. Drag & drop onto Disk Copy. Set disk copy to ignore errors & verification in prefs. Then Disk Copy should mount the image for you. If it doesn't the file is probably a dud or damaged.
