Yes, I see a firewall icon in LW.
I was looking through the thread you advised, and my router is a Netgear WGR614v3. On the link it says UPnP is enabled by default on this model: "Netgear: Some NetGear devices have UPnP enabled by default. WGU624 WGT634U WGT624 WGR614 MR814 have UPnP enabled by default."
I went to see (at
http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm) how I could manually port forward, but it says I have to create a static IP adress. Isn't that dangerous? The purpose of dynamic IP's being to render ur computer less traceable right?
PortForward says: "So when you start assigning static ip addresses, you need to assign a static ip address for every computer on your network." Why is this? Is their any way to set up a static IP on only one of the computers using the network?
thank you.
