I could be wrong but, if I remember correctly, chkdsk (check disk) was used back in the day to mark bad sectors on hard disks, so the OS would not try to save data to that area.
It also meant, unofficially, that the HD was starting to fail because each time chkdsk was run it would find more bad sectors/areas.

The chkdsk was for aol which I am not really worried about. I just need to wipe my OS clean and start over... |
