1. Make sure you have permissions to install on the drive you are installing to (admin.) And make sure you are installing to the OSX Applications folder.
2. If you already had LW installed at any time, double-click the harddrive icon, open the Library, open the Receipts folder, then find the file: Install LimeWire.pkg, delete it and try again.
3. Whilst trying an earlier version of LW might work, you'd need to delete any LW preferences (if any) from here before you install: /Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire
4. Close down Classic environment before installing.
In regards to
1. re: permissions, check your application folder & see what permissions are listed as. ie: select the folder & Get Info. & click Details on that window. This is normally owned by the system. I'm not sure if it's wise to change this, but it might be worth a try. You can always change it back if it doesn't work.
Have you repaired permissions before? It's a little similar to starting OS 9 with extensions turned off & using First Aide. ie: Reboot whilst holding down SHIFT key. Once you see the option for Safe boot, choose it. Once completely booted, go to Utilities folder & open Disk Utility & repair permissions. Then reboot normally.
