Are you sure it isn't called Nero 7 Premium.
The helpfiles can be easily integraded into the program with a seperate download. There is no need to keep them seperate. You just download them and install if I remember correctly. It was a bit of a hasle the first time since you had to replace every helpfile in every program. I don't know if they have been updated too, but if you are use to using Nero then the helpfiles aren't really needed.
As I said I haven't updated it yet so I really have no idea what kind of fixes have been made and codecs added. All I know is that the last update had many fixes in it. Many had problems with it freezing during certain operations etc.
It hasn't been out that long so there are probably more fixes made in the future. Just register at Nero and you will be notified through email when updates are available.
If Nero Showtime can't play the sound I very much doubt that burning to DVD will have sound on it. You could always give it a shot though. After updating off course.
Try using G-Spot or afreecodecVT to check the file. Then you will know the name of the audio codec and write an E-mail to support at Nero.com asking what options you have if any. This will also help for the next update, If they know that their custumers think it lacks something they might add it later.
www.afreecodec.com Don't know where to get G-spot
note: afreecodecVT can only identify codec used for .avi files
Could you PM me the exact filename of the videofile is question, then if I have some spare time I can have a look see and maybe give you a better answer.
edit: Found link for G-Spot
