MS XP (Legal Copy) Chiefleary and forum members
If you are serious about making your copy of XP legal then you will have to pay MS something and whether you like it or not it is down to MS what you have to pay.
I don't know if they have the same situation in other parts of the world but here in the UK there used to be lots of computer repair shops. These shops could and would build you a computer either cheaply or to your own specifications.
However, the shops clientèle mainly consists of novices and older people who could not understand why their 4 year old computer could not run the latest software.
Anyway, it is no surprise to me that Chiefleary bought a computer containing dodgy software without realising it.
What you have to realise Chiefleary, it that if you want updates, especially security updates, for your XP so that you are reasonably safe then you will have to bite the bullet and shell out your hard earned pounds to MS.
Also, I know £90 may seem steep, especially as your PC probably cost less than £300.00 but, if you're lucky, you may get a student discount.
