That depends on what files those were and how well you want to have them removed from your system.
If it were some delicate files I'd reckon you google for a free program called "Eraser 578"......this will be able to erase any traces of the file from the computer. You can choose with it the DoD mode used by the very Department of Defence to eradicate files.
