Firstly it is nothing to do with your player, but other things ...firstly check that your speakers are turned on or if not turn them on, if you can't turn them on plug them into the power socket, if they are turned on make sure they are plugged into the green hole (not pink or blue) on the back of the computer. If this is all done, restart computer. If you don't hear windows thingy at start, and you know you haven't disabled it then you have 2 problems. First one is check that volume is turned up, and not ticked mute.
second one if mute is on and volume up, is to check device drivers, it is quite easy until you install them.

Directions:
1. Right Click on "My Computer"
2. Left Click on "Properties"
3. Left Click on "Hardware"
4. Left Click on "Device Manager"
5. In List you will find "Audio", expand this.

Now, if you see either yellow question marks or nothing, then you are in serious trouble, this is because you have:
* No device installed (none)
* No drivers for device installed (Yellow Question Mark)
* Corrupt Drivers (Yellow Question Mark)
* Generic (Yellow Question Mark)

This is when I recommend you speak to local technician, and ask for installation of device drivers - audio!!
