Port forwarding is always safer than UPnP. Though I haven't heard too many problems from Netgear users before (netgear UPnP is usually on by default I think.) But if you wish to port forward, the steps are 1. setting up a static ip (most important step), 2. forwarding a port thru your router, 3. Setting LW's advanced firewall to port forwarding. Reconfiguring Norton Firewall. Apparently Norton's settings can become confused sometimes, particularly if updating LW you may need to re-do the settings from scratch for Norton.
