What doesn't show up in the systen tray?? The LW icon??
Go LW>Tools>Options>System Tray and there make sure that "Show System Tray Icon" is marked as well as "Minimize to System Tray".
As for the media player, I suggested you already something on this. Of course you also have to choice to download the proper codecs for the WMP. Use the forum search here with "Windows Media Player Codecs". There should be a post of "ukbobboy01" with some download links for WMP codecs....
