Good for you that it work either way!
In most cases when your having a firewall your often have multiply computers on a private net that all can communicate with internet through the firewall. In that case the firewall would have the correct IP (that you need to force to) and all the computer on the private net will have a IP number that doesnt exist on Internet (such as 192.168.x.x or 10.0.x.x). So if you should run winipcfg on one of those computers you would just get 192.168.x.x wish isnt correct
, therefor I suggest you always check with a site such as
www.whatismyip.com to avoid yourself some hazzle
