Have a nice friendly conversation with the Landlord & eventually discuss the option with him to open the device up so you can use p2p because you need to use it for your studies.

It's prolly some type of router & prolly with its internal NAT firewall. If it supports UPnP then get him to enable it. If not, see if he will open a port for you such as port 6346. BTW with UPnP, any program that understands UPnP can communicate directly with the device & request it to open the port for that period.
BTW there's been other posters on the forums over time with the same issue. Friendly negotiation is probably the best bet!
