Default
1. Uninstall your Java using your add/remove control panel. Then reinstall ... Java 1.5 (take the JRE) "Offline" version only which is about a 16 MB download.

2. Delete your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

3. Reinstall LW using the "Offline" version which is not the prefered version from here http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

4. Try changing compatibility mode to either windows 2000 or NT; Point #5 in Fixes for Limewire
