seems that I have misread your initial post (guess I shouldn't try to read posts after 1 a.m.)........I thought I read you having problems with both computer and I-pod in playing the file.....
At least you got this way one of the best media players available at present.
Unfortunately, I won't be of much help in regard to i-pods sicne i do not have one and therefor can't come up with practical experience....
How about using the forum search with the query "I-Pod file no sound"
