Most AOL users have, as part of their installation, AOL's own anti-spyware application, which I believe is a clone or version of Pest Patrol. This anti-spyware app, which starts up every time you switch on or reboot your PC, sees LW as spyware and always (without fail) deletes LimeWire.exe.

Now, you say that you do not have any other anti-spyware app but I bet you if you check either Task Manager or your start-up folder you will find AOL's anti-spyware app, you have to disable this (i.e. prevent it from starting-up/running) before you will be able to use LW properly.

Please note, every AOL user that visits this forum complains about the same problem, that is how I was able to guess that you were an AOL user without you saying so in your first post.

Also, I have a friend who uses AOL, but not LW, he told me about AOLs anti-spyware app is automatically installed when you first run the AOL disk.

Find that app and disable it.

Good hunting
