Racegirl did some work on her own and it seems solved the problem. I can only advise following her suggestions. It sounds like a problem with your sound card and or drivers.
It really is not necessary to post on the end of an old thread which gives a solution AND to PM members. Searching the forums first, and then posting a new thead if you can't find the answer, usually works
