My thoughts & commemorations also. Mining companies are well known for such careless greedy behaviour/attitude when it comes to maximising profit. The recent mine tragedy & collapse in Tasmania is another example. But let's not forget this happens every single year somewhere in the world. Be it one of the russian or ex russian states/nations, or in China, or South America, or Africa, etc. Many if not most of these common instances do not reach the general or international media. But only when it does, does it show the total disregard for human safety do these organisations show in their ambitions & 'all too ready to take chances' with innocent people serving as the scapegoats/pidgeons/rabbits/test mice, etc. as well as their (the company) ladder to success & profit.
My sorrows go out to the people who lost their lives at Aberfan, & also elsewhere in the world where people were just trying to make a living, or even simply innocent by-standers. It's not forgotten .. perhaps just not publicised or celebrated as often. With thoughts & prayers given. Edit: Lest we not forget. And not forget the lessons!
