Some people may disagree, but OSX users don't really need software firewalls. Try turning your OSX firewall off temporarily & see if you still see the brick wall. If yes, then the firewall issue is most likely your connection device. If you're using broadband then there must be a connection device somewhere. Perhaps it's nearer to another computer in the house. That's most likely the issue. Most broadband/high speed connection devices have internal NAT firewalls. If it has UPnP, good, then simply telnet into the device & enable it. If not, then forward a port. I can't advise exactly what to do until you try turning off your OSX firewall. And until you find out the brand & model of your connection device router (must be a router if you're connecting via ethernet.) |
