I've seen the same error report for others, & doing the steps in the link I gave which may include reinstalling Java & LW always fixes it. Perhaps remove any earlier versions of Java you have.

Odd I know but for some people despite using Windows XP, setting LW's compatibility to windows 2000 or NT sometimes fixes their problem.

I'm just wondering why you have .limewire as your preferences. After you deleted it once, it should then become limewire & found here : C:\Documents and Settings\*yourusername*\Application Data\limewire

Application Data being a "hidden" folder.

Search your computer & see if there's more than one LimeWire program listed anywhere.
