The old downloads folder was probably deleted by the recovery program if it
was on the desktop. If you fish around in "C:\Documents and Settings" you
might get lucky and find the old account and it's desktop.

That old version of BearShare may be the problem. Go to this thread, where
you will find links to the beta version 5.1.0b25 and the BearStart utility. Since
that beta was a time-limited version you need BearStart to start it up.
