AFAIK such issues I've seen in the past were Java related. Do you have a special mouse or any special mouse software or designer mouse or pen mouse, etc. or any special software that supports speech for keyboard, etc. This might be causing a clash. Try disabling them temporarily & see if it makes a difference.
