Default how can I play .tar.gz .z or .zip in MPC directly?

mp3, mpeg, wmv, are compressed files that Media Player Classic play by decompressing them in memory using a codec.
.zip .gz and .z files are compressed files. Why can't MPC play them directly?
Are their codecs for .zip, .tar.gz, and .z that i can register for MPC?
I have done some weird things to MPC that worked before. Like dragging a CD .iso files on to it to play. It worked with some codec packs but not all.I onced dragged an image file of a homemade DVD disc to play it also. That was with the K-Lite codec pack.
