file recovery programs will most likely work to some extent as I seriously doubt you actually erased your HDD....

if you did indeed overwrite the whole drive with 0's and 1's then you have certainly lost the files, but as previously noted I doubt you did that...

so go ahead and try some recovery programs...you might recover some of that lost data
