Why pay $8.50 for software that doesn't work? Don't get me wrong, despite the fact that I use Limewire, I'm all about buying software when I know it works well for me. But this Limewire Pro thing has got to be a total joke.
I "run" Limewire 2.1 on OSX, and it's vitually unusable. The developers must know this as well, as I'm sure they've probably cranked up their software and tried to use it at least once before ditributing it (right?). So why are OSX users still asked to pay money for the Pro version? What are the incentives here?
This is a perversion of the shareware concept. "Buy the product so we can afford to develop it, and THEN we'll fix it." Unbelievable.
If Limewire were a product in ANY arena other than computers, it would be deemed defective. Imagine using a microwave where the buttons respond to your touch 10 seconds after you press them, cooks unevenly, and then locks up. Consumer Reports would have a field day.... |
