Unless I am mistaken, there appears to be no way to save one's settings in Limeware. Every time I start the program I find I have to go to Tools > Options > ... and go through setting everything up all over again. I find this tiresome and frustrating. I'm a Newbie at this file sharing business, but I am already sharing 979 files, all ones that I have ripped myself from my own CD's by the way and not ones I have downloaded from the net. If Limewire were ready for prime time, I would buy it. However, since it isn't and only 6 months of free updates are offered, I feel I must hold back and keep my eyes open for a better alternative.
I would encourage everyone to rip their PC's and share them. I find that I am able to listen to mp3's, rip mp3's, download files with Limewire, have several people uploading files from my PC, and cruise the net all at the same time; in fact I am doing so right now. I only have a 500 MHz machine and a DSL conection with about 1300 down/500 up kbps. I found a great free ripper and file organizer at
www.phatnoise.com, which I don't hesitate to recommend.
