bluejay is flying high
Default techno-moron needs help!

I've used limewire for a long time with no problems. For several days I have been getting zero hits on anything I search. Not even the sleazy-ad and other junk-type false hits. I get nothing, although I am told I am connected. I updated Limewire and java, checked that my firewall lets lw in. When I click on "Connections" i see a list of 9 hosts which are constantly changing, and the status for all of them reads "connecting". I'm ready to give up. I don't have time to jiggle my settiings and try to figure out what's wrong. My idea of worthwhile technology is that I shouldn't have to understand it, I just want it to WORK when I turn it on!

1. OS version? XP
2. What firewalls you have? Windows
3. How much ram? not sure
4. Hard Disk space available? not a lot, but I've recently deleted about 200 music files, so there's enough
5. Connection type? broadband
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Paradyne 6310-A4-200 is what it says on the little box I rent from my ISP
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? house
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? Just updated to latest versions
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? LISCO (local operation, but cutting-edge
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? "Your test worked!"
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. I don't think so
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. Been using it for a long time
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yes. I have verified that my firewall allows LW.
