I am beginning to have strong suspicions that Limewire has been hijacked by corporate advertisers and/or government. I’ll skip downloading for now because what I have discovered about uploading is most unusual.

For a while, until it became almost worthless, Kazaa was wonderful and you could find and download almost. I still have most of my pictures, songs, etc. that I download with Kazaa. I would think that Limewire would be similar to Kazaa, but it’s not. With uploading I found the following bizarre happenings:

1. When I click on ‘Chat’ never works and/or nobody responds.

2. When I search for files that have been uploaded, none are found.

3. When I click on browse host to check for uploaded files, either I cannot browse the host or else the uploaded files are not found.

4. Furthermore, when I click on browse host and it opens, the files found are not the files that ordinary people would have. More often than not the host is T3 and all the files are suspiciously the same or similar with very short names of 2 to 4 letters or numbers. At other times the files are not the type and variety one would expect from ordinary people.

This causes me to wonder if ordinary people are somehow prevented from sharing files. Has anyone else experienced the same or similar?
