I'm relatively new to P2P, some of these ideas I've noticed have already been listed. For one, 'Limit number of slots a particular file can take'. I noticed that was on the 'list' since 2004? Moments after downloading a 'gem', a 600+ meg file, 15 users were instantly downloading it. Since this is a several hour u/l, everything else I have was basically unavailable. This one feature, or lack thereof, has made getting this file, and others like it, a real problem as very few hosts want to dedicate their systems to this one file for 1/2 the day per user of what will end up taking several weeks until this file gets around. But no one wants to host it for this reason, It is probably one of the most important features that desperately needs implementation. IMHO
As a result, this and many others like it, are rare finds. What's more, not a single Limewire user was connected. Bearshare, Snaz-illa (?), morp-somthing was scarfing up all my bandwidth. All of their clients were like sticky magnets, I'd kill their uploads and they would almost instantly re-connect. I was happy to see that even though I selected this file as no longer share-able, it allowed the uploads to continue until finished. It really irked that I couldn't browse any of their systems, so how could they see mine?

No, but perhaps a 'Reserve ___ slots for Limewire Users: (0-15)' 15 means you'd only let Limewire users connect.

No, that's a programmers question for sure ;-) (and I resemble that remark). If you get a particular version that works, the features or options you use work well, leave well enough alone. You shouldn't force people to upgrade to what may be a buggie version just to get a slot.

No. About the time I get to Ultrapeer status, Windoze locks up and I have to reboot, forcing me back to leaf.

Hmmm, this would be tricky. Some files are rather large, besides if there are u/l slots available, does it matter? Maybe he'll keep the files 'shared' and get more hosting,
Just a few first-timer rambings, ignore if needed.
