How did you uninstall LW? If you uninstalled thru add/remove programs that can cause problems. The correct way is via start > all programs > LimeWire & then choose the uninstall option. Normally, installing a new version of LW will automatically remove the previous version (use the offline LW installer, rather than the recommended one). If reinstalling isn't removing the old version, you might have to use your computer's search to find LW stuff & delete that way.

Is this startup error popping up all the time? Were you having any trouble with LW popping up & refusing to stay closed? If that's the case, it's a worm.
