Here's a thought....accept the idea that your school has limited bandwidth and limited budget. If they are trying to shut down access to Gnutella it is probably because they don't have the budget to pay for the bandwidth to accomodate your file downloads. Instead of trying to cheat your way around this restriction - and ultimately get everyone else's fees raised in the process - why not open your wallet and pay for your own, separate connection? This way you can avoid the school's restrictions and download to your heart's content, without being a burden on your fellow students. Sure, your current fees already include Internet access, but the fee structure was set with a certain purpose and usage level in mind; as much as we all love file-sharing, it exceeds those conditions. |
