Rome is flying high
Unhappy "Starting Connection" forever (v. 4.12.6 Pro-Mac)

Hello, people:

This is my first posting in this forum, after using LimeWire for about a year, and the Pro, paid version for about 4 months. I live in Colombia.

During all the above-mentioned time I've used LW I have had only minor, common problems, but now, starting four days ago, LW is not holding the connection if at all. Sometimes it goes to "Fair Connection" for a few minutes and then falls back--and stays-- in "Starting Connection".

Well, I registered for these forums, and for the past two hours have been scanning all the info and stickies and recommendations I've seen here, even erased the Preferences file, corrected 'Permissions' on the HD and ran DiskWarrior, to no avail. So I'm giving up and pleading publicly for help. Here's my filled-up questionnaire:

1. OS version? Mac OS Tiger 10.4.9 (Latest)
2. What firewalls you have? "Network Time" on UDP N° 123, and the mannualy set one according to your recommendation —Gnutella/Limewire on TCP & UDP N°s. 6346
3. How much ram? 512
4. Hard Disk space available? 30 GB
5. Connection type? broadband, cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Motorola SurfBoard Model SB5101i — No router
7. Where are you trying to connect from House
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java? 4.12.6 Pro, Java 1.5.0_07
9. Who is your ISP? cable.net.co
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? 'Your test worked!'
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? No
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. The latter
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? YES
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/attach...1&d=1158099342I went there and it shows the Connection bars all in blue and says: "Turbo charged Connection
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? That was set by the ISP's personnel, but going to its page I see no UPnP

Thank you very mucho for all and any help,

Rome
