o.k. so up untill now, i've been working on a pc but i finaly got my original clamshell tangerine ibook out of the shop for repairs and upgrades (more disk space and memory, OS 10.3.9, airport, battery replaced, etc.) and everything been working perfectly; internet is fast with most airports, etc.
since it's almost impossible to move everything from my desktop pc to my laptop mac... i decided it'd be easier to just re-download all of my music by putting the music on my pc up onto limewire and downloading it from there onto my laptop. (im moving a couple weeks and there's no room for it in a small studio so i need to sell before i move- which means this is really really important!!!)
k. so...
i downloaded limewire and everything went fine untill i saw that i had no bars (when my internet connection was at 90 percent) and a firewall (forgive me for being broke and lazy, but i don't have a single thing on here with a firewall- i don't even have my airport firewall set up) so now im just as confused as hell. so i went into the configurations and reset some stuff, as in managing my speed, uploads, firewall config, etc. and limewire said everything was working.
so i tried to download a song which is easy to find and at night has TONS of hosts (****) as a test download. i searched for it and like i had hoped; hundreds of the same song and a couple dozen hosts for the first 20 or so.
but low and behold- i have no 'speed', the time it'll take for downloading will be anywhere from 2 days to 19 hours and 41 minutes.
WHERE did i go wrong??? i'm so confused!
HELP!
p.s. if it's something extremeley easy and is in the FAQ's or "everyone knows... " im sorry.i looked through the FAQ's and the forum and i couldnt find anything. so be nice- im only a 17 year old girl in a hippy town.
p.s. sorry this is so long. im really sad at limewire right now.
