Usually, we do not encourage users to download applications from off the gnutella network simply because most of them are booby trapped with viruses, spyware and other forms of malware.
However, since you are a MAC user you may be luckier than most.
Just remember that you should not download any copyright material because, unless you recompense the copyright holder, it is illegal (unless you live in a country or state where it is not).
Also, you could find that you are better off going to the manufacturer’s website and downloading the trial version of the software you are after. Simply because it is more likely to be free of corruption or booby traps, you will get the latest version available and anything up to 30 days free trial.
