I seem to be having a similar problem. Ive been using Limewire for years and it suddenly won't connect. It says connecting at the bottom but never connects. I have tried all of the advice in your previous messages still no luck.
I havn't changed anything on my system(mac 9.1) and have tried re-installing it. No joy. Id be interested to hear any solutions you come up with.
