Hi Kyko
First, I am not a Mac user and so cannot comment on you first question but the second one, about download speed, I can make a general observation that may help.
Now, you understand that Limewire is a P2P app and so will download the file you want from a number other computers, usually up to 10 machines if the file is popular. However, even though you may have a broadband connection you cannot download faster than the computers you are downloading from can upload. What this means is if you have slow uploaders your downloads will be slow.
Also, you have to remember that not all places have up to date communications infrastructures, again the older the infrastucture the slower the transfer speed. And I won't go into the perils of congestion, i.e. just like traffic jams.
So, by now you should be getting the picture, which is that your download speed, even though you may have the fastest broadband available, is dependant on where your downloads are coming from.
Therefore, in order to generally get faster downloads you have to pick files where LW indicates they have fast connections.

PS. I have not even mentioned "Bandwidth Shaping" aka "P2P throttling". |
