Have you been able to use LW at school before? Can other people at school use p2p apps??

If you're using Norton's firewall, make sure that the Windows firewall is disabled. Check out these threads for info about configuring the Norton firewall.

A couple of Vista users have been able to fix their connection problem by uninstalling both Norton & LW (don't uninstall LW via control panel, go all programs > LW & use the uninstall option), then reinstalling LW first & after that reinstall Norton.

What version of Java are you using? Some people have had probs with the latest Java update, you could try this version instead. Download the JRE offline installer & remove any other Java versions before installing this one.

Please remember that none of these fixes will help if your school doesn't allow students to use p2p apps
