5. Connection type? broadband cable modem
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Linksys befsr41v2 router, SVB5120 Sufboard Voiceover cable modem.
7. Where are you trying to connect from? Home
8. What version of LimeWire & Java do you have? LW 4.14.8, Java 1.6.0_02
9. Who is your ISP? Optimum Online

11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? yes, linksys befsr41v2 router, 3 computers, one uses LW successfully.
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. New problem with new laptop that never actually connected with LW... Except when i specified the port as 45100 and it worked for that day only..
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yep
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? tried unsuccessfully to port forward, has upnp enabled, tried to setup static ip on laptop,

>>>>Okay, Im pretty sure this is somesort of port issue with Vista or something, because Limewire never connected... I managed to find a port that worked ONE day, for some reason i get three results from changing the listening port: it crashes completely, it says not available, or it says actions will take place when lw restarts and it worked instantly with port 45100 and i managed to download multiple items at good speeds.
