Well, we really only called it high school because it was on top of a hill. The other schools were all lower down in the valley. We all gathered in a circle and the teacher drew in the dirt with a stick. (Dirt was a fairly new invention at the time.) She mostly drew pictures of animals and hunters with spears and grunted a lot, what with language not being developed till much later. It was a real challenge trying to explain calculus with animal pictures and grunting. On the other hand, dating was a lot simpler. You just picked the girl you wanted, hit her on the head with your club and dragged her off behind a bush. Ah, the good old days. |
