I agree with Peerless that you should clean up your HD but before you do a reformat, which is the last resort, go back to a previous "restore point", when your IE browser worked.

In my experience, I have found that there are some malware that can cripple your IE and AV app, I believe, by making changes to your registry. So by cleaning up your HD, as Peerless suggested, and moving back to a previous restore point should solve your problem.

However. if that fails then be prepared to do full reformat and reinstallation of your apps and data.
