You don't have to go overboard, just a few more simple things would be great. One thing that always bothers me about the LimeWire stats window is the # of uploads it reports. For me, at least, this has always reported the total # attempted, not completed. This very quickly reaches several thousand for me as people repeatedly try and connect even tho I have all 20 slots filled (University 10BaseT LAN's ROCK) and get kicked. Every one counts. SOmething that kept track of completed uploads, or MB uploaded, would be great.
I also like the Qtella stats page, which shows how many results are from each type of servent, so you get an idea of what software is serving the most files. This used to be limewire by a huge margin from what I saw, but recently it seems qtella isn't connecting to the same part of the network as limewire and I get nill.
I would think the folks at LimeWire would love a feature like this, as it would demonstrate very clearly how much of the content on gnutella is provided by their software
As far as what GUI is best, I'm from linux land, so I do't know about gnotella or BearShare, but I really love the Qtella interface, if only the network connectivity would get better.
