ralin03,

Make sure that your Windows firewall's still allowing LW.

Go back to the gnutella.net file that you replaced before...how big is that file? If it's around 20 - 25 KB then it should be fine. If it's 0 KB then you'll need to replace the file again & make sure that LW's properly closed before you do that. Did you try the newer & older Java versions listed in that sticky (just that you're using a version of Java that gave a lot of people problems with their connection). Remember to only have 1 version of Java installed on your computer at a time...remove any other ones before you reinstall a different version. Did you restart your computer after replacing the gnutella.net file & deleting LW's preferences folder?

Try port forwarding for your router, the instructions are here.
Port Forwarding for the Linksys BEFW11S4
Don't forget to set up a static IP address first. LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within the router setup should all be the same number.

If you still can't connect, change ports. In LW tools > options > advanced > firewall config. Change LW's listening port to 65000 (or try other ports in the range of 49152 - 65535) > apply > ok. If you change listening port, you'll also need to change the port number forwarded within your router setup & the port number in LW's 'manual port forward' box.

BigAdam82,

Don't use the Windows & McAfee firewalls together...make sure that McAfee's configured to allow LW & turn off the Windows firewall.

Try replacing your gnutella.net file, changing Java versions & also deleting LW's preferences folder. Have a look at the thread below for more info...there's a link with info about how to find LW's preferences folder in Vista. Your gnutella.net file lives inside the preferences folder

What's the model of your D-link (eg 514, 524 etc)?
