Sorry to hear that, I don't know what else to do, I think I just need someone to come and do it for me, like a computer tech or something. The way you described your connection is exactly like mine. I am pretty sure it has something to do with the security of the computer, I know nothing about computers so I don't want to mess around with it myself.
