i've had LM for a long time and never had this problem before, but haven't used it for several months. i just upgraded to PRO hoping it would correct any problems, but that didn't make a difference.
i sent an email to "support", but am getting very frustrated with the software. can anyone help me??? |
Hi grant, Firstly you should of made this a new separate thread instead of tagging onto an old thread -- Okay in
limewire Links (below) click on (If LW will not connect) and go through these fixes -- if it still doesnt work try this:-
To configure Norton's to allow LimeWire:
1. Double-Click the firewall systemtray icon. If it's not there, load Norton's Personal Firewall through your Start menu, then in the Programs list.
2. In the System Status window, click Personal Firewall
3. On the right-hand side of the window is the option to Configure, click it. A new window will emerge, with tabs at the top of it.
4. Click the Program Control tab.
5. In the Manual Program Control section, look for C:\Program Files\LimeWire\LimeWire.exe.
6. If it's in the list, skip ahead to No. 10.
7. If it's not in the list, click the Add button.
8. Double-click the LimeWire folder.
9. Double-click LimeWire.exe.
10. Select LimeWire in the list.
11. Click the Modify button at the bottom of the window.
12. Select Permit from the "What do you want to do?" drop-down list.
13. Click OK.
14. Click OK on the Norton Personal Firewall window.
15. Close any other Norton's Personal Firewal windows.
16. Close and reload LimeWire.
You should be able to connect to LimeWire now.
Finally if problem still remains click on (system details) fill in as much as you can and post back here
