I'm not quite sure what you are trying to accomplish here. If you want to convert MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 to DVD Format, This will do it.
Video Converter: convert video & dvd with AVS Video Tools!. Not sure why you want to convert tha mpg Files to AVI. You don't have to do that extra step. I know AVS, and I'm sure Nero will do the same. These converting programs will convert many different file types.
This leads me to believe you have done absolutly NO Research on this subject. These programs and just the basic process will require you to put forth a little effort and research. WE will not waste our time if your not willing to help your self.
