folkrockr is flying high
Angry I've tried everything to connect.

1. OS version: Vista, I'm on the Administrator acct (that's me).
2. Firewalls? Just Windows. I've tried it on and off and that doesn't help. I've always allowed Limewire as an exception in the blocked list.
3. How much ram? Plenty.
4. Hard Disk space available? Plenty.
5. Connection type? DSL/Broadband
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Actiontec, but it has always worked with Limewire int he past.
7. Where are you trying to connect from? House...has always worked before.
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? LW 4.16.7, but the previous version stopped being able to connect out of the blue some weeks ago, so I upgraded it today. Java 1.6.0_03
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Qwest, they're not blocking.
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Test worked.
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? Nope I'm not.
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user? I've had LW a long time, only recently is it not connecting, and I haven't updated anything that I know of.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes, I turned back on my Windows firewall because having it off didn't help. Modem/Router firewall is not on.
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? Not using port forwarding.
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? I only use Avast! and it has never had an issue with LW. I make sure to not load other security pgms on my system with pgms like AOL.
16. What country are you living in? USA

Now, with all that said, I've gone to the other Sticky threads... removed gnutella.net and re-added it using all the correct steps, removed all LW components and re-downloaded it, etc, etc. I honestly don't know what caused this issue, as I haven't had any major updates on anything. Just kind of stopped being able to connect at some point or another. I'd go to a system restore point but wouldn't even know where to go back to. I hadn't used LW for several weeks. I thought it was because I needed to update LW, so I paid for the extension today and still no go.

Still have any ideas?
