I came to this forum for one reason. To wit:
Limewire warned all, with a displayed window, that there were problems with an infiltrator and please download the latest version to insure your security.
I deleted the old Limewire program immediately.
I clicked on the download address displayed by Limewire.
I was unable, after several attempts, to download the new version. I was denied every attempt.
Nor was a I able to find an alternative download (that I knew was safe).
So I joined Gnuella forums (since Limewire apparently doesn't offer support to basic users) and someone sent me an address to download the new Limewire.
It infected my compuer immediately. The first song I downloaded, The Lady Came From Baltimore, by Tim Hardin, refused to play or open....or anything.... and my computer began to malfunction all over the place besides being slow all the time.
I worried about that Limewire download because everything was fine before and it was the first problem I had with operating.
So I did a complete scan....and there it was: Trogan//ladycamefrombaltimore//limewire etc.
.
Now I am trying to rid my computer of Limewire and I cannot. It's beyond my com-pacity and is apparently quite complicated.
Limewire offers no help.
While its true that I use Basic and pay nothing getting a computer crash, and no solution, wasn't really what I expected or deserved.
I have noticed from checking around that most people advise going to Add or Remove Programs....Limewire does not even appear in my All Programs list at all.
So what do I do now folks?
